Description
Funbalm was inspired by the 80’s. This is when we walked around campgrounds in packs, wearing fun coloured stripes on our cheeks, lips and noses. My version of this is a creamy cosmetic balm with Calendula included for its reputation as a healing herb, Beeswax and Zinc Oxide to reduce inflammation, and Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant. Zinc Oxide is protective in the sun as it is known to reflect both UVA and UVB rays. Fun Balm is water repellent, containing only hydrophobic ‘water fearing’ ingredients, which do not readily mix with water.
White Funbalm contains 19% per weight Zinc Oxide, and purple has less, at 12% per weight. While Zinc Oxide is UV reflective, Fun Balm is not recommended for use as a sunscreen.
Once the oils in this balm have been allowed to soak in, the product will be less prone to smudging and shifting, with the white and purple mineral solids staying on the surface of the skin.
