Description
It’s easier than you think to make your own personal care products and cosmetics.
Lipstick is coming up next followed by a thick, gardeners-style moisturising cream. These classes are small, and in some cases have a wait list. Buy a ticket to avoid missing out.
Upcoming Classes
Proper Lipstick Class – $32.
SELLING NOW! Class capacity is 10. Purchase a ticket to secure your spot.
When: 1.30 – 5 pm.
One Sunday afternoon, 8 June 2025
What: Choose to make your own shade from the selected samples or experiment with the mica and oxide pigments I have to create something unique.
Bring along a used lipstick casing with a 12mm ‘seat’. (Select the 8 June class from the drop-down box, and see the picture there for reference). If you do not have one, you may purchase a 10 g capacity lip tube from me, made of biodegradable card. It has a simple push up function to expose your lipstick to apply. Note, the amount of product you make will fill the lipstick casing mold, but wont fill the card tube to the top. Bring $3 if you want to purchase a tube.
Kawa kawa, Calendula and Comfrey Cream class – $35.
There is a priority wait list for this popular class, but 2 tickets are available here. Once they are gone, go to CWEA.org.nz to see if they have any left.
When: 1.30 – 5 pm.
One Saturday afternoon, 28 June 2025
What: Infuse hand grown herbs into oil and aqueous (water) phases and then emulsify into a cream. Learn about the healing qualities of some plants, take home a recipe and the know how to make more. Bring a 50g capacity pot, or purchase one from me for $3 on the day. Please bring cash.
Making together is what we do!
Last year we made deodorant, ‘proper’ lipstick and infused healing herbs. We made moisturising cream, mineral loose powder foundation and zinc balm. We had a lot of fun, enjoyed interesting collaboration and made some great natural products (highlighted in the photos). There are more classes coming up this year, Terms one through four, so check back regularly or sign up to my class newsletter below to be notified about the next one.
What can you expect from my classes? I have tested recipes, learned techniques, and sourced local ingredients for these classes. You just get to arrive and make, with out the hassle of setting up and clear away. And, you get to save packaging waste at the same time. How cool is that?
