Description
It’s easier than you think to make your own personal care products and cosmetics.
These classes are small, and in some cases have a wait list. Buy a ticket to avoid missing out.
Upcoming Classes
Do it yourself cosmetics! – $40
When: Sunday 9th November
Time: 9.30 am – 1.00 pm
What: Make cosmetics with me again, this time with a twist. Make lipstick or choose a new option to make highlight stick suitable for below brows, and other high points of the face. I can offer three shades of highlight stick – Gold, Opal White and Pink, on top of my normal range of lipstick shades – look for a picture of these coming soon.
Those choosing to make highlight can use a supplied upcycled and sanitized small glue stick casing (thank you CWEA for collecting those for me). People choosing lipstick are encouraged to bring along a used lipstick casing 13mm across as per photo. New Card tube casings for those who need one, or prefer it, are available to purchase on the day for $3 each – bring cash.
Kawa kawa, Calendula and Comfrey Cream class – $38
When: Term 4 class yet to be confirmed
Sometime between September and December
What: Infuse hand grown herbs into oil and aqueous (water) phases and then emulsify into a cream. Learn about the healing qualities of some plants, take home a recipe and the know how to make more. Bring a 50g capacity pot, or purchase one from me for $3 on the day. Please bring cash.
Making together is what we do!
Last year we made deodorant, ‘proper’ lipstick and infused healing herbs. We made moisturising cream, mineral loose powder foundation and zinc balm. We had a lot of fun, enjoyed interesting collaboration and made some great natural products (highlighted in the photos). There are more classes coming up this year, Terms one through four, so check back regularly or sign up to my class newsletter below to be notified about the next one.
What can you expect from my classes? I have tested recipes, learned techniques, and sourced local ingredients for these classes. You just get to arrive and make, with out the hassle of setting up and clear away. And, you get to save packaging waste at the same time. How cool is that?
